Can the Cats Food Drive Kicks Off Nov. 4

Together, we can fight food insecurity in our community during the 24th Annual Can the Cats Canned Food Drive. Can the Cats is a friendly, off-field, food drive competition between the University of Montana and Montana State University to see who can raise the most food and funds for their local food banks over the two weeks leading up to the Brawl of the Wild football game on November 18, 2023.

Last year, an estimated 1 in 5 community members used emergency food services in Missoula County alone. By teaming up with the Can the Cats Food Drive, together we’re providing critical support to area food banks and helping our friends and neighbors combat hunger.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  • Food Drive Kickoff
    Washington-Grizzly Stadium | Saturday, Nov. 4 | 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Going to the game? So are we! Bring your food donations to the Griz vs Sacramento State game. Donation bins will be available at every stadium entrance.
  • Stuff the Truck
    Rosauers | Wednesday, Nov. 15 | 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
    Rosauers | Thursday, Nov. 16 | 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
Stop by Rosauers and join the Missoula Food Bank and Clearwater Credit Union team to raise food and funds for Can the Cats, enjoy hot chocolate, and grab some Clearwater swag.
  • Brawl of the Wild Food Collection
    Washington-Grizzly Stadium | Saturday, Nov. 18 | 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Gear up for the Griz vs. Cats game and bring your food donation with you! Donation bins will be at every stadium entrance for your convenience. Collection ends after the first quarter.

Your donations count towards the Missoula Can the Cats contest total and support the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center, UM Food Pantry, and Stevensville Pantry Partners. To view all Can the Cats events and donation sites, visit the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center’s website.
