Our mission is to be a force for good in banking, in the communities we serve, and in the lives of our members.
Clearwater Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative founded by 8 Missoula police officers in 1956. Currently, the largest Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and second-largest credit union in the state of Montana – Clearwater serves over 50,000 members across twenty counties in Western Montana. In 2016 Clearwater was invited to join the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV), becoming 1 of 3 credit unions in the United States and the only financial institution in Montana to join the GABV.
Field of Membership
We serve people who live, work, worship, attend school in Beaverhead, Broadwater, Cascade, Deer Lodge, Flathead, Gallatin, Granite, Jefferson, Lake, Lewis and Clark, Lincoln, Madison, Meagher, Mineral, Missoula, Park, Powell, Ravalli, Sanders, and Silver Bow Counties.
We also serve people who participate in associations headquartered in, and people who participate in programs to alleviate poverty or distress which are located in our 20 county field of membership listed above.
We serve incorporated or unincorporated organizations located in or maintaining a facility in our field of membership.
We have a full-color logo and logomark, as well as a single color version of the Clearwater Credit Union logo available for use.
Full-Color Main Logo
The main Clearwater logo should be used primarily on a white background for maximum impact and clarity.

Use the logomark when horizontal space is a concern or where including the name would be duplicative (i.e. social
media profile pictures).
Use the navy version when placing the logo on a lighter color background where the main logo would conflict with color usage.

Clearwater Credit Union announced our name change on June 18th at the 2019 Annual Member Meeting. Below are some additional resources explaining the process and rationale behind our new name.
In the days following the Annual Member Meeting, we wanted to make the communities we serve we aware of our move to Clearwater. To ensure the community was informed, we distributed a press release to local media sharing the exciting news.
