Saving money, making change

Money is power, and where you do your banking makes a difference. At Clearwater Credit Union, we’re committed to using our resources to spark social, economic, and environmental change.

Community giving

In 2017, we donated 7.5% of our net income to non-profit organizations.

Environmental impact

By measuring the energy and water we use, and then working to use less of it in our daily operations, we’re reducing our environmental impact and, we hope, encouraging others to follow our example too. When you bank with us, you’re making change happen.

Individual Development Account (IDA)

An IDA is a matched savings account designed for people of modest means. It helps families and individuals establish a pattern of saving regularly, so they can ultimately build the capital for a down payment on a home, tuition, or funding to start a business.

We’re proud to partner with Missoula Workforce and Montana Credit Unions for Community Development on our IDA program.

FAQ

Yes, your accounts with us are federally insured to at least $250,000 by the NCUA.

It’s a type of savings account. Imagine a lockbox with a timer: you put your money in, set the timer and wait. When the term ends, you get to withdraw your money, along with all the interest it’s accumulated. Term certificates typically earn more interest than a standard savings account, so your money grows faster.

Yes, we partner with VALIC Financial Advisors, Inc., in order to provide our members financial planning, investment and insurance services that complement traditional credit union products and services. There are licensed VALIC representatives with offices at Clearwater branches. To make an appointment for a no-cost consultation, please call 406.523.3300.
