Board of Directors Elections

As a member-owned, not-for-profit credit union, Clearwater is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. Each Board Member serves a three-year term.

Annually, the Board Nominating Committee nominates candidates to fill expiring terms or vacant positions. For 2025, two Board Members are nominated for re-election and one nominee to fill a vacant position. Please read more about the nominees below.

Geoff Gilbert

Geoff has been a Clearwater Credit Union member since 1991 and has served on the Board since 2019. After an early career as a geologist, Geoff became a Chartered Financial Analyst and has been working in finance and investment management for the last 20 years. Geoff is an avid investor, entrepreneur, and urban farmer.

Mike Kadas

Mike has been a Clearwater member for the last 38 years. He worked as a Director of the Montana Department of Revenue from 2013 to 2018, represented Missoula in the Montana House of Representatives from 1983 to 1996, and serve as the Mayor of Missoula from 1996 to 2006. Mike has also served on many Boards, including the Federation of Tax Administrators, the Multistate Tax Commission, and the Montana Budget and Policy Center.

Jon Sesso

Jon is a long-time Butte resident with a long history of representing Montanans. He most recently served as a Montana State Senator and Senate Minority Leader from 2013-2020, as well as a Montana State Representative from 2005-2012. With degrees in Communications and Environmental Studies, Jon also served as the Planning Director for Butte-Silver Bow from 1991-2018 and was the Superfund Coordinator responsible for environmental clean-up and mine reclamation coordination from 1991-2020. His contributions also include a long history of Board service including the Butte-Silver Bow Community Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Montana.

Nomination by Petition 

In the event that you wish to run against these nominees, the Nominating Committee will accept nominations by petition through May 5, 2025. To submit your nomination, please download a Board Nomination Packet below and follow the instructions to submit your nomination. 

If the Nominating Committee receives no additional nominees by petition, nominees will be declared by acclamation at the Clearwater Annual Meeting on June 17, 2025.

If the Nominating Committee receives additional nominees by petition, a member election will be necessary. If this occurs, we’ll post candidate names and biographies in-branch and online by May 13, 2025, and provide additional election details on our website.

  • Dual- and single-core laptops have a reduced frame rate when screen sharing (around 5 frames per second). For optimum screen-sharing performance on laptops, we recommend a quad core processor or higher.

    Any 1 GHz single-core processor or better (non-Intel)

Bandwidth Recommendations

The bandwidth used by Zoom will be optimized for the best experience based on the participants’ network. It will automatically adjust for 3G or WiFi.

Recommended bandwidth for webinar attendees:

  • For 1:1 video calling: 600kbps (down) for high-quality video and 1.2 Mbps (down) for HD video
  • For screen sharing only (no video thumbnail): 50-75kbps (down)
  • For screen sharing with video thumbnail: 50-150kbps (down)
  • For audio VoiP: 60-80kbps (down)
