MONTANA IMPOSTER SCAMS

Imposter scams are once again on the rise across Montana, and some Clearwater members have been affected.

What’s Happening

Fraudsters are spoofing text messages, phone numbers, and emails of legitimate businesses asking you to provide personal or private information to gain access to your account, debit, or credit card information or digital banking login credentials.

How to Spot the Scam

In most cases, the spoofed communication asks you to click a link, respond via text message, or verbally provide them:

  • One-time security passcodes
  • Credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates, or PINs.
  • Digital banking login credentials.
  • Account numbers.

PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE.

Clearwater Credit Union will NEVER call, email, or text you and ask you to click a link ore respond via text message to:

  • Resolve account issues or activity.
  • Confirm or deny charges.
  • Share one-time passcodes, login credentials, account numbers, or passwords.

If you receive a call, text, or email asking you to do any of the above, it is a scam!
