What’s Happening?
Scammers are actively targeting business owners who received Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans, regardless of whether the loan(s) have been paid back or forgiven already.

How to Spot the Scam

The scammer will typically reach out by phone or email and say that you missed a court date related to your PPP loan and that you still owe money on your loan. To avoid jail time, the scammers ask you to wire funds immediately. In some cases, the scammers may even represent themselves as local law enforcement or provide you with a copy of a fake arrest warrant to intimidate you. Don’t fall for it!

How to Protect Yourself

If you receive a phone call or email asking you to wire funds to avoid jail time, it is definitely a scam! Please hang up and call your loan officer or our Member Service Center immediately to notify us.
