Coming Soon! New Online Shopping Protection
As your credit union, we constantly seek ways to help you protect your identity and your money, especially when it comes to shopping online.
You already know shopping online is convenient, but now it’s about to become a lot more secure. Beginning March 1, we’re adding a new layer of security to your online, Clearwater debit or credit card purchases.
Here’s How it Works
If you attempt an online transaction that we flag as risky, a pop-up window will appear asking you to accept a one-time passcode via text message. Once you receive the code, just enter it online to authorize your purchase.
What’s a Risky Transaction?
We may identify your transaction as risky for various reasons, such as the total transaction amount, the transaction type, the site you’re shopping at, or even because it’s outside of your normal shopping patterns.
One-Time Passcode is Required
We won’t ask you to validate every online purchase, but if we do, accepting and entering the one-time passcode is the only way to finalize your purchase. Without the correct passcode, we will decline the transaction for your protection.
Here’s How to Prepare
It’s easy. Before the end of February, please login to Online Banking, stop by your local branch, or give us a call at 406-523-3300 to ensure we have your correct mobile phone number on file. Once you do, you’re all set.
We understand this new level of security may cause a few extra steps when shopping online, but we believe protecting you from fraudsters online is worth it.
Thank you so much for your continued membership.
