Universal Associate - Southside Branch

We are accepting applications for a Universal Associate position in Missoula, MT. This role is responsible for assisting members with all aspects of their financial needs. The role is all-encompassing and requires the Universal Associate to advise all members on account options, sales solutions, service transactions, consumer loans, self-service channels and high-level budgeting. The Universal Associate builds positive relationships with current and potential members and directly contributes to the success of the Credit Union’s strategic goals, by recognizing and detecting opportunities to build a deeper relationship with the member. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provides internal and external members with excellent service
  • Provides services to members in the following areas
    • Cash and Check Transactions
    • Opening New Accounts
    • Assist with Lending Functions
      • Fund Auto-decisioned Loans (non-collateral consumer Loans)
      • Refer members to appropriate lending department and set up appointments with loan officers
  • Protects members and credit union from fraudulent activities
  • Use financial services equipment to meet member need(s); help with general maintenance of equipment
  • Receive incoming phone calls; Make outgoing phone calls  
  • Work with multiple service channels to provide member satisfaction and education
    • Online Banking
    • Mobile Banking
    • Phone Banking
    • Card Services
    • ITM Operation
  • Advise on account options
    • Open and close accounts all types of accounts offered at the Credit Union
    • Maintain member accounts
    • Update member account records
    • Research and solve member account options and issues
    • Refer members to more in-depth credit counseling and resolution when needed
  • Advise on sales solutions
    • Educate members on products and services and refer based on individual member(s) needs
    • Knowledge of products and services, including staying up to date with changes and additions
  • Advise on service transactions
    • Empower members to process their own transactions
    • Process member transactions and other member requests
    • Manage ECR’s, ITM’s and ATM’s or any other self-service solution
    • Complete end-of-day balancing activities
  • Follows all credit union policies and procedures, including being compliant with state and federal laws and regulation 
  • Reliable attendance and completion of tasks

Universal Associate Intern - Bozeman, MT

Clearwater Credit Union is now accepting applications for a Universal Associate Summer Intern in Bozeman, Butte, or Missoula, MT. The Universal Associate Summer Intern position will give college students a rounded view of the inner workings of a financial institution while gaining exposure to possible careers within financial services. Interns will take on the role of a Universal Associate, learning credit union products and services, as well as conducting face to face interactions assisting members with financial needs. In addition, there will be a shadowing component where students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in various departments within the credit union for a complete picture of the financial institutions’ operations.

    • Refer members to more in-depth credit counseling and resolution when needed
  • Advise on sales solutions

    • Knowledge of products and services, including staying up to date with changes and additions
  • Follows all credit union policies and procedures, including being compliant with state and federal laws and regulation 
  • Options for Shadowing could include:
    • Accounting, IT, Marketing, Lending (Consumer, Commercial, Mortgage, and Credit Analyst), HR, Loan Processing, Payments, and Accounts Resolution.

Step 2: Screening

We’ll review your application and any accompanying information to assess your initial fit for the role. Based on each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience, we compile a short list of applicants to begin interviews.

Because we respect you and your time, we will notify you if we do not select you for an interview.

Step 3: Interview

Typically, the hiring manager and a member of our People Solutions team will conduct your interview. Depending on your location, your interview may be in person or virtual.

During the interview, we’ll dive into your background, gain a better understanding of your skills, and assess your cultural fit. This step also includes more technical or job-specific questions so the hiring manager can assess your fit for the role.

This is also your time to ask your questions about the job so you can determine if the position, our company, and our culture are right for you.

In some cases, the hiring manager may want to complete a follow-up interview to help ensure they select the best candidate for their team.

Step 4: Assessment or Task

Depending on the position, we may request you complete additional online assessments or a specific task associated with the position. These tools help the hiring manager to select the final candidate.

Step 5: Decision

Once the hiring manager reaches a decision, our People Solutions team will make you a job offer, which will include your proposed salary and an overview of our benefits package so you can make an informed decision.

If you accept, we ask most positions to begin employment within two to three weeks.

Because we respect you and your time, we will notify you if you are not selected.
